Andrew C Perkins

Andrew Perkins is Professor of Haematology at The Alfred Hospital and the ACBD at Monash University in Melbourne. He undertook dual physician/pathology training in Haematology at RPAH in Sydney, a PhD in cancer genetics at the WEHI, and post-doctoral studies at Children’s Hospital, Harvard. His research aims to determine how cytokine signalling interacts with transcription factors to control gene expression. His team are interested in determining how this process directs blood cell generation during development as well as ongoing production throughout adulthood. His team are interested in finding out how defects in this process underpin myeloproliferative neoplasms.
